MaltaPost commemorates World Cup 2010

MaltaPost issued a set of two stamps and a Miniature sheet commemorating the 2010 FIFA World Cup hosted in South Africa.

The set was issued on the day of the opening match of the tournament on the 11th of June 2010.

The stamps and the Miniature sheet was designed by a local Maltese artist Frank Azzopardi. The sheet depicts a spiral of the flags of nations where the competition was hosted in recent years on the ˆ0.63 stamp and ending with the South African flag on the ˆ2.50 stamp depicting Zakumi, the tournament's mascot.
