Notes : The Type C was introduced for regular use in 1913 (two earlier exceptions are described in more detail below). There are two distinct PHS groups for this Type. The first ceased to be used prior to the Malta postal reorganisation in the early 1920s and these PHS were replaced by a Type D, except for PHS 50 which was replaced by a Type E. The second group continued as a Type C, following the reorganisation, some of them into 1949.
